What’s Cooking Good Looking

This online exhibit explores the ways that gender roles in the kitchen were defined and presented to white, middle class Americans through pictures, videos, advertisements, and a variety of other sources. The four sections of this exhibit focus on published cookbooks and cooking articles, home layouts and design, representations through popular media, and advertisements. Additionally there is a section that includes references used and further reading for more information. This project was created as part of my undergraduate history degree in 2016.
